Joko Dolog Statue

Joko Dolog Statue located on Taman Apsari street. It is Budhist statue. Joko Dolog means “fat man”. It was make in 1289 in Nganjuk .300 years ag, Kertanegara king moved the statue to Surabaya, because he believed that is Curse Statue. Every Thursday night, many Javaness people come there to pray at the statue. They usually put flowers on the left palm on stop. This statue is constructed from the shape of half man and half woman.

Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument (Monjaya)

Monjaya is one of Surabaya icon Jalasveva Jayamahe ist India word means We get our glory at the sea.

Monjaya built for appreciate the Surabaya heroes, specially the Indonesia Navy that fighting to get Indonesian freedom. This monument stands on the top of a building and its 60,0 meters above the sea. Monjaya have museum, but that is not open for public.

The Red Bride

Located on Jembatan Merah streetThis bridge connecting Kembang Jepun street and Rajawali street. Red bridge is one of most savage battle is Java History was fought around there. The “Battle of Surabaya” began on 10 November 1945, less than three months after the proclamation of independence had been read in Jakarta and it was here that Brigadir Jenderal Mallaby was killed. He shout by Surabaya people. Further down the red bridge is china town area packed with buildings of typical construction it is still a crowded business and trade center

Kenjeran Beach

Located on Sukolilo street 100 in the east past of Surabaya. Kenjeran Beach is one of the oldest tourism attractions in Surabaya and up till now, it still a favorite place for enjoying sunrise. On the south side you can pay a visit to sangar agung, where Budhist usually do their praying ritual. You can see the tallest Budha statue in Indonesia, namely the four faced Budha as well as the statue of Kwam im Po Sat Goddes

Monument of Hero

The Monument of Heroes is celebrate the victory of the local resistance fighters of the heroic battle 10. Nov.1945. The located on pahlawan street. The museum features a recording of the fiery voice of Bung Tomo. Several static dioramas display the heroic of Surabaya’ youth and then sharpened Bamboos

Youth Building

Youth Building located on Jl Gubernur Suryo no 15. It was built in 1907 by Wesmeas can architect from Dutsch. It was called Simpangshe Societeit. This building became a place where Dutschmen spend their time especially at night. There are many activities that can attracte people in that place, such as dance hall, dinner party, biliiard, etc.

Surabaya Zoo

Located on Setail Street no.1. In Surabaya Zoo you will find about 3500 animal in 400 species, which makes this Zoo ti be One of 2002 having the complete animal collection. Now day, Surabaya Zoo serves as not only tourist attrction, but also as means of conservation, education, and research. Surabaya Zoo is open everyday at 07.00-17.00 and the ticket price is Rp 10.000

Cheng Hoo Mosque

Located on Gading Street no 2 open daily 4am-8pm. The architecture of Cheng Ho Mosque is same as a temple. It’s very unique, has special colours (red, gold, & green) the colour like in China culture. The name “Cheng Ho “ comes from the name of admiral from muslims, Cheng Ho. In his journey in Southeast Asia, Cheng not only trade and friendship, he also pread the Islamic religion. This mosque can facilitate 200 preyers. It’s 99 m2 and has octagonal shape of the Ceiling. Number such 8,9,11 have meanings. 11 was the size of Ka’bah when it was built for the first time,9 is the total number of prophets (wali 9) who had spread Islamic in Java. And 8 is symbolized the pat kwa (lucky number in Chinese traditions)

Petekan Bridge

Petekan come from Javanese word “petek”, it is mean “depressed” means “dipetek” which used when the mechanic wanted to open the bridge by press the knob. The old bridge has been splitted Kalimas river into 2 parts. The architect designed the bridge which can boast up and degreaded because Kalimas river was a line of traditional boat which brought goods to the commerce area to Kembang Jepun. It is located near by Sunan Ampel Mosque and Tanjung Perak Harbour as the main economics area and transportation in East Java, Indonesia.

Don Bosco Buiding

Don Bosco building is located on Tidar Street no 115 sby. This building was built in 1930. At the beginning, the building was placed by Don Bosco foundation which is established by Priest G.J Terver and his orphan community. In the era of Japan Colonialism 1942, this building was also being the greatest Japan’s store of guns and bullets in Surabaya. Then the youth of Surabaya took over the power and all the Japans guns On October 1st 1945. The guns were distributed to the other Indonesian warriors (freedom fighter) and now, this building still become orphan community and school.

STMN 1 Surabaya Building ( Koningen Emma School)

Located on Tentara Geni Pelajar street no 25. It was built in 1918-1919 as Ga Kutotai Dai Ni Chuutai Camp. On Oktober 5th. it is reorganized as TKR, then becam TRI (Indonesian Troop) and became TNI (National Troop). Since that we celebrate National Troop Day on October 5th. And this building nowday becomes SMK 1 Surabaya

Majapahit Hotel

Located on Jl Tunjungan no 65, Majapahit hotel was buid in 1911. This hotel had few changing name, first named was Oranje hotel, in 1942 when Nippon(Japan) was colonialized change to be Yamato hotel, and in 1946 was LMS hotel and the last in 1993 become mojopahit hotel until now. This hotel is very historical for Surabaya, in 19 September 1945, there was tearing Netherlands flag red, white, and blue became Indonesian flag, red and white.
